The Canarias Geo Innovation Program 2030 is an initiative of the Department of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Knowledge of the Government of the Canary Islands (through the Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society [ACIISI]) and Fuerteventura City Hall (through the Fuerteventura Technological Park [PTFSA]). It is the product of an agreement signed between the parties on 27 December 2017.
The ACIISI and PTFSA were appointed to promote the advancement, management and governing of the Canarias Geo Innovation Program 2030. Both entities were given the ability to take the necessary steps to ensure the initial definition, impetus, and proper progress of the program and, where necessary, to propose innovative technological development projects.
On behalf of the Department of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Knowledge of the Government of the Canary Islands and Fuerteventura City Hall, respectively, both entities may:
– Meet with technology companies to identify and define the innovative technology projects that will be included in the Program.
– Select projects, instruments and concrete activities that will further the Program and submit them for consideration to the competent entities.
– Coordinate the participation of other departments, units and institutions in the Program.
– Propose alternatives for collaboration on scientific/technological topics of common interest.
